PAN3 Pambula River
The Pambula River rises in timbered highlands inland from here and flows generally
east, past this point and into Pambula Lake, before reaching the Tasman Sea
near Pambula Beach. The Pambula Estuarine Wetlands are listed on the Directory of
Important Wetlands in Australia as they play an important role in the natural
functioning of a major wetland system. They are also important as habitat for
animals at vulnerable stages in their life cycles, and provide refuge when adverse
conditions such as drought prevail.
