PAN1 Watson's Waterhole
Over many hundreds of years the course of the Pambula River has varied its location
across the Pambula River flood plain. Once upon a time Watson’s Waterhole was
part of the Pambula River that flowed into Pambula Lake. Today the river lays 500
meters to the south of this point. Each year Black Swans breed in this area and
Latham’s Snipe (a shy and secretive protected migratory bird) flies all the way from
Japan to spend the Summer months enjoying the banks of Watson’s Waterhole
