RIV13 Sevens Creek, Gooram Falls
This Fluker Post is located at the spectacular Gooram Falls, where the Seven Creeks descends a steep escarpment, consisting of granite outcrops, cascading waterfalls and deep pools. This section of Seven Creeks is home to a diverse although small native fish population including two threatened species – trout cod & Macquarie perch. These species were once common and like many other native freshwater fish populations their numbers have declined significantly over the last 50 years. Low flows, introduced species and sand deposits downstream of Gooram Falls are major contributing factor to the decline of native fish species in Seven Creeks. Images taken will show different flows and changes in vegetation over the seasons and years.
