RIV20 Campaspe River, Elmore Walking Track
This Fluker Post along the Elmore Walking Track captures the growth and recovery of the Campaspe riverbank vegetation. A popular passive recreation site for Elmore locals and visitors, the Elmore Walking Track provides a unique opportunity to spend time in nature within the township. Years of effort by the Elmore Progress Association has more recently been supported by a Dja Dja Wurrung works crew (Djandak) with weed control, revegetation and signage. The North Central CMAs Caring for the Campaspe project has also contributed with the Victorian government’s $222 million investment over four years to improve the health of waterways and catchments. Over time, the number and diversity of riparian plants are expected to increase providing a variety of habitat opportunities for birds and animals.
